To ameliorate the medical, dental and veterinary problems of the local populace in the area especially during monsoon season, Indian Army organised a ‘Medical cum Veterinary Camp’ at Gujjar Koti. Despite the prevailing environment, and to provide medical, dental and veterinary aid to the locals who are restricted to their homes due to imposition of curfew in the area, the camp was conducted with full enthusiasm.

A team of Army and civil doctors including a lady doctor and Dental Surgeon along with Nursing Assistants attended to the patients arriving in the camp. More than 342 patients including men, women and children were provided medical & dental check-up and treatment. The patients were also provided with medicines. The medical staff provided counselling on hygiene and sanitation, importance of safe drinking water, preventive measures against Malaria and other monsoon season related diseases.

The team of Army Veterinary Doctor and Pharmacist attended to the animals arriving in the veterinary camp. A total of 49 animals to include sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes, mules, dogs and horses were treated. Medicines were also distributed to them.

Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch of the village Gujjar Koti a remote area, expressed his gratitude to the Army for its initiative in medical, dental and veterinary care for their villages and reaching out to the population most in need. He appreciated the efforts of the Army towards the health and well being of the livestock.
