ARMY PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN EVACUATION OF NON-FATAL CIVILIAN CASUALTY FROM LAR VILLAGE



Udhampur (J&K) : 13 AUG 2019



At 1300h on 11 Aug 2019, nature created havoc for the residents of Lar village wherein continuous downpour of rains caused a major landslide which swept away a large portion of the main road leading to the village. The landslide caused havoc for five members of one family who got trapped under heavy boulders, killing three family members instantly and leaving one family member named Mr Nawabdin son of Shri Gulla resident of village Lar severely injured.

Under Mission Reach-Out, upon the receipt of information of the incident, the Army medical team at Bagga moved to Angrala to attend the severely injured civilian. The medical team attended the severely injured patient with open head injury and poor vitals. The patient was managed for 40 kms by compression bandage over the injury, intra-venous fluids, oxygen supply through face mask, thus continuously maintaining the vitals till Mahore helipad, wherein Air Ambulance awaited the patient.

The prompt action by the medical team of the Army saved the precious life of the critically injured civilian. The timely effort in casualty evacuation was hugely appreciated by the locals and civ administration. The prompt and methodical handling of emergency has further strengthened the bond of faith between the Army and the Awam.
